I'm considering buying a S3Pro, but I'm being driven away by the price and drawn towards a Canon 20D. So what I'd like to know from you S3 owners is, why did you buy the camera, and are you pleased with it?

I bought the s3 first of all because i already have nikon lenses, and secondly because it gives you the option to shoot jpegs and get very nice and usable pictures without any post processing. The option to use the extra dynamic range is an extra bonus.
It's a very nice camera in general but is a SLOW camera, but then again i also have a D70 if i need speed. The major factor for me was jpegs straight from the camera which saves me a lot of time. |

Alright dave, I'm curious as to how slow it is? For example, if I shoot a RAW, can I shoot another RAW while it's writing the first to the card? I'm still confused about how the buffer works on it. I don't necessarly need the 5 frames per second continuous shooting of the 20D, but I would like to be able to capture 5 or 6 images in a 15 second time frame.
Also, how well does it perform in low light? |

yes you can still shoot while it's writing, how many i don't know, haven't tried it yet, i've only got the camera for 2 weeks.
Low light is great even iso 1600 is very usable, much better than my D70. as for writing speed you can check out the review it might answer your questions |
