I mainly use my SB800 or my Quantium 4d on a stoboframe pro 19 bracket. However to reduce weight and for candids and snap shots I'll use the built in flash.

My question is:

When the camera is in manual mode, shouldn't the flash TTL no matter what f stop you're on. My S2 will not. If I use a f stop like 2.8 3.6 or 4 the images a overexposed. But them 4.5 5.6 and other mid range stop are fine.

TTL should balacne!!!!

Is there a setting I'm missing?

manual mode is exactly that (including the flash)

it has a guide no. for every iso setting and will require calculation to get the proper f stop

guide no./range=f stop
