Sorry Bill.

The S9000 wasn't added to ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) until version 3.3, which requires Photoshop CS2.

It won't run under CS.

The newer ACR plugins will also work with Elements 3.0 or higher.

If you don't want to spend the money to upgrade, give UFRaw a try. It's a free open source program that works as a stand alone or a plugin to the Gimp.

It supports your camera, and it's algorithms are pretty good (based on Dave Coffin's dcraw.c code).

It's available for both Windows and Linux Platforms.

Another alternative you might want to consider is to download the latest version of the DNG converter that can be found on the same website where you get the Camera Raw updates. You can use the DNG converter to convert your raw images to Digital Negative (DNG) files. They still contain all the raw data. Adobe has just "standardized" the format so that it is a little more universal. Those DNG files can be opened with Photoshop CS and Camera Raw version 2.4. Camera Raw handles the DNG files exactly the same as it does the original raw files. You will see no difference in the results of doing this conversion. It is then just a matter of you mastering the use of Camera Raw. Just take note that you want Camera Raw version 2.4 installed on your computer. It is the last version that will work with Photoshop CS, and is the only version that will handle DNG files in Photoshop CS.
