The F31 is being advertised in UK for £40 more than F30 ... does it do anything other than F30 + facial Recognituion ?

Did Fuji fix any F30 issues, or improve on anything?

I bought a new F30 in August - but due to accident I have to replace it, so could get the F31 instead.

From what I can see, other than F.D., the only other differences are internal memory (26 MB vs. 10 MB) and IR communication (but I'm not sure what that means...remote control???).

I don't have the F30, but I think you would be wasting your money if you think you are really upgrading to move to the F31. Yes, it has face detection and is that seems to be a critical issue for you then you will have to decide whether it is worth it. But my guess is that for nearly all of your images it would be difficult to quantify any difference in the images from the two models.

also thinking to get F30 or F31fd, since I don't have F30 yet, maybe I shd wait a little longer till F31fd out in the store.

The F31 IR doesn't work on my PDA/mobile phone

The IR just mean to transfer image between F31 cam
FD seem great

More samples here, seem ISO 200 is the sharpest

Camera can detect both face with slight different of distance
Below sample exif: 1/60 f2.8 iso800
