Default S602

Recently got my s602 - Haven't really had a chance to experiment that much with it.

I do have a question about using the sports mode - does it seem to capture sports shots well without blur? (football) I have a 2x telephoto lense that I am going to try but thought I should ask for some expert hints before next weeks ball game.

I still don't understand about f/stops,shutterspeed or aperture yet and am looking for a beginners book that might help me to understand phtotography better.

I shoot a lot of sports, soccer, baseball, basketball with my 602 and this is only my ideas. First I would not use the sports setting. I like using the shutter priority mode (S on the dial). Shoot at as fast a shutter speed as conditions will allow. Also set your ISO rating to at least 400 and if at night under lights you may have to go as high at 1600. You may also want to use the feature that shoots five shots in quick succession and then saves them. I love that mode but you want at least a 64mb smart media card or bigger. In a six week little league season I took over 1200 pics this year. Finally don't be afraid to experiement with the camera it can realy be fun.
