As I new 9000 user (of a camera bought used) I am still finding new tricks. I just managed to fix my command dial.... we'll see how long it lasts... and now I have a new problem.

I tried to use an external flash with my camera, and the PC cord tip did not seem to fit the terminal on the camera front too well. It seemed to be much too loose.

Does this camera require some special sort of tip, and if so, what is it called. There is no reference in the owner's manual.

Thanks for any help any of you can provide.

In my experiences I had seen two different types of plugs. One type is a single tapered pin, and the other is a small circular band with a smaller one inside of it. The single pin will not work. I would suggest that you take the camera to a local store and have them help you choose the appropriate PC cord to go from your flash to your camera.
