Default S1500 RAW mode?

Does the S1500 have the capability to save images in a RAW format? I did not find it in a quick review of the owners manual or in the reviews. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums.

As far as I can tell, that model does not support shooting in raw, unless there is a hidden service mode somewhere that nobody has discovered yet.

One good way to tell if a model supports shooting in raw or not is by checking the list of cameras supported by Dave Coffin's dcraw.c. Unless it's a very new model (and the S1500 was announced in February), he's probably added support for a camera capable of shooting in raw (and many other raw converters use some or all of Dave's code in their products).
