Oh another phrase I just learned!! "busy mom" I'll be using these interchangeably. Canon is good to people who use automatic. The iso does not creep up high and you can enjoy pictures. Image quality is very good. One thing My eyes pick up that most don't is the red fringing or lots of reds. It's fine in most cases and for your average family shots but not good enough if you want a "scene" shot or a "duck in a snow" shot if your very picky. My friend bought an canon elph and came back from Hawaii. He showed me his pictures. They are pretty good but of course it's not dslr. I would of been happy myself if I took the pictures with the elph as well.

Sarah gave you good advice.

Thanks - I just feel like a little bit of a failure.. I am not one to give up so easily, but in this case I think I am just being more practical...
I will have to bend my ego for now... and accept I need to make compromises.
