Default F70EXR - Concert photography (indoor arenas)

I have just replaced an old Sony with a F70EXR

However, I am having difficulty in getting good photos at concerts. All I have tried so far is the standard setting but they are over exposed in bright lighting conditions

When the stage is evenly lit the quality is fine

What is the best setting for this type of photography?

You could try using spot meter; that generally helps getting the correct expoure in high contrast scenes. Aim the cam at different places of the stage and press the shutter halfway until you get the exposure you want.
Happy Shooting! GB

Use overall metering and flash it if its indoors. use exr in auto mode.
