Default X-s1 at iso-12,800 around a campfire

G'day all

Just had a few days at a place in outback northern Queensland called Undara [where they have these lava tubes of 190,000 years old - magic stuff but I'm getting off-topic] and at the evening sing-along campfire I decided to give the X-s1 an outing at high iso settings

ps- all images are hand-held, WB = Sunshine to give me the rich campfire colours

1- setting the stage ~ here's the campfire & muso with a small 12v fluoro tube behind his head

exif= Fuji X-s1; iso-1600; 1/4sec x f3,2; [2x zoom / 45mm]

2- muso in full song

exif = Fuji X-s1; iso-12800; 1/6sec x f4,0; [4x zoom / 100mm]

3- muso a bit closer

Exif = Fuji X-s1; iso-12800; 1/5sec x f4,5; [7x zoom / 160mm]

I'm more than happy with these images - never been able to shoot at these iso speeds before ... and I love the rich campfire colours on the muso too

As always, comments welcome
Regards, Phil

A brave man indeed shooting at those speeds with a small sensor...lol...
I'm guessing you used the zoom in the interests of a test- as opposed to composing with your feet,which of course would enable you to keep the iso down a bit...and the resolution higher...
However,despite the obvious limitations,the XS-1- in your hands- has done a fair job here- with images more than adequate for small print/web use.
