Default HS30 and old external flash

Hello, I want to attach an old external flash (Braun BVC 320) to a HS30, but I am concerned about damaging the camera with excessive voltage. Does anybody know the max voltage specs for the HS30 hot shoe?

G'day oscar

This has been covered previously [so it is an oldie]...
Most new / digital cameras use a 6volt trigger voltage, whereas film camera flashguns needed anything from 6v to 100v

... I think the trick is to ...
Place the terminals of a multimeter across the 2 flash terminals [ie the hot shoe terminal & the side terminal where it slides into the metal hotshoe] and measure the voltage

Others here may remember more about the 'how-to'

Hope it all works out for you
Regards, Phil

The trick is, these cameras today are safe to use a flash of 3 volts with. That leaves out any, and all old film day flash units. They will immediately!, cook the switch in your junk DIGICAM.
