Hi, I just bought my new S5000 camera and I have two doubts:

1 - I am using it with the 1.5Volts AA type alkaline cells supplied with it. I noticed that the Sony AA-type rechargable Ni-MH cells that I bought are only 1.2Volts. The manual does not say anything about voltage and I wonder if it would be a problem to use them. Are all rechargeble NI-MH cells 1.2Volts only?

2 - Now I need to buy a case for the camera. Does any one know if the Fuji Deluxe Polyester Fitted Soft Case SC-FXS5000can fit the camera with the adapter ring on it or do I have to take the ring off everytime I want to store the camera? If anyone has other suggestions on cases, please let me know.

PS.: I must say that I am amazed by the quality of this camera.

I've got two sets of the Lenmar (2300 mAh) AA rechargables which are 1.2 volts and they work fine with my S5000. I think you'll find that any of them will, although I highly reccomend the Lenmar because you can get them for a lot less than some of the other brands I'd looked at and at 2300 mAh, they are longer lasting on a charge than most others. I paid 29.99 from a local dealer for an overnightcharger and two sets of these batteries.

I'm afraid I'm not much help on the case, as I have too many things I carry with me, so I just got a small camcorder case so that I have room for it all. For me, this was easier than carrying 3 or 4 different bags or cases...

I have the Fuji deluxe camera case and it does allow you to keep the adapter ring on the camera.
