I just purchased the S7000 and want to get the fastest type or at least the second fastest type of memory for it. Any Suggestions???? The 1 Gig drives seem a bit pricy for me.

I don't know if it's the fastest, but I have a 512 Meg card from Transcend. It claims 45X speed and it sure seems fast to me. I take lots of burst mode shots at baseball games and it copes very well. I think you can buy this card for about $100 on the web.

The 3 "best" cards are the Ridata 52X series (my fav), Transend and Lexar. You can view many user reports at http://www.propassion.nl/finepix/
The xD cards are slightly faster but much dearer (a typical Fuji decision to push their own standard, but what the heck). Any CF speed greater than 8-12X will give similar write times, but IF you intend to keep your CF for life, then it costs NO more to get the fastest you can now. Who knows what camera you'll have in 5 years.
