Default Night photography with 602z

Does anyone have any tips on night Photography with a s602? Such as focusing ? Its a guess at best as far as I can tell. Also I seem to get a star effect with lights in my night shots almost like a star light filter. Is this normal?

Have a look at some of the Finepix 2800/3800 posts and those for other Fuji cameras with an EVF. There are hints there.
find a light source at the approx same distance to pre-focus on;
set zoom to full wide angle if there is not focusable point,
to get maximum depth of field.
You will get a brighter saved image than the finder indicates, as the EVF has a "shutter speed" as well (approx what it uses to capture video), which is higher than the camera's lowest speed.

Somewhere I read a tip which advised increasing ISO to highest sensitivity, focusing, then reverting back to the setting which you intended to take the picture. I haven't tried it with my 602 yet but sounds like it would work. Good luck.
