Thanks, - the pathology analysis can be depressing after you've captured the shot that went wrong - but if you get it right next time, then the effort was worthwhile!

It's worth adding, that even the limited EXIF data which some cams can show after saving the shot, is very useful. Are you getting better pics now?

I have been using programmed auto outdoors with a 400 ISO, and setting the shutter speed a little higher for shots that I am not worrying about depth of field (wildlife photos....lots of movement). Also, for indoor shots, I almost always use the flash.
