The easiest way to shoot great close ups on the S5600 is to use Auto mode, set the camera to macro.

1. Aim the target crosshairs at the subject you would like to focus on, get in close.
2. Depress the shutter button halfway through.
3. Let the camera focus, when its done you hear a "bip-bip" sound & then shoot.
4. If it cannot focus you'll get a focus error indication on the LCD, perhaps you're too close, so move a little behind, repeat the process from step 1 till you get a focus confirmation as in Step 3.
