G'day David

Well done - good sense of humour being shown there
fwiw - in melbourne, australia at the moment fuel prices for both unleaded & diesel are floating around $1.45/Lt = $6.60/gallon

Q- how does this compare with USA prices??
Regards, Phil

Im in southern california and its $3.80-ish.

But relatively speaking for my income bracket, it does feel like an arm and a leg.

Drove through Louisiana yesterday and at many stations gas was $3.07 US per gallon. Here in Florida, or my part of the state, it's around $3.34 a gallon.

Thanks Robert & Diana

and we read of US people complaining about price of fuel reaching $4/gallon and then talking about all sorts of protests etc etc
We're paying so-called 'international-parity' pricing + taxes based upon a balance of the [west] Texas crude oil & the Singapore [tapis] crude oil price

Regards, Phil

Hmmmm again

you mean 1.40 x 1.6/US$ x 4.5Lt/Gallon = $10 per gallon

Geez Simon - you'd better not do any motoring

Regards, Phil

G'day all

getting a bit off-topic here .... apols to the OP

Our travels thru eastern Oz this year came to about 25,000km [~16,000m], the motorhome [diesel motor, coming in at 4,5tonnes] does about 13Lt/100km [~22mpg], so our fuel bill came in at around $5000 for the 8-months we were on the road

Regards, Phil
