Our jack russell recently tore the house apart trying to kill a rat. He eventually got it but would not let go (we had rat poison down and were worried he could injest some from the rat)so hubby had to prize it from his mouth:-)My son caught these shots with his little 1 megapixel camera. It is pretty disgusting in my opinion.

I think I would be worried what they were going to do to it with that propane torch in the 2nd pic.. I think that poison from the rat could harm your dog(who deserves a special treat for the catch). That's one big rat!

Funny shots, Julie! Hey, your Jack Russell was only doing what Jack Russells were bred to do and from the looks of things, your dog was doing the job very well!

Wow, you sure had action at your house. That would be too much for me. That was a good size rat. Your Jack Russellgave it up in one piece. Did he break it's neck?It did not look too bloody. Is you dog part cat??

He killed it in our lounge room, only after bailing it up behind one of the computer desks, this was after he pulled all the leads to the computers, Tv, dvd etc out in the chase:shock:Still they were bred as ratters:-)

Julie, you've got guts living where you do - my wife would have moved out of the house immediately if there were rats like that in the house! Hmmm, come to think of it, I might too...

one little rat, better than many other things. It's winter and we see more mice around this time. Our house is old and in an old area of town so that explains the problem. Mind you this rat was more or less a one off. It sure made my dogs day though:-)
