This past winter we had about 30 people over for a birthday party when we heard this tremendous noise over the house. Everybody just stopped what they were doing and looked at each other and then ran in every direction, not knowing what happened. This is what we saw when we went outside. A 125 foot pine fell and hit the left side of the house and snapped at the point of contact, depositing the rest of it almost perfectly on our roof the entire length of the house.

Mom! Look! The tree knocked some of the snow off the house. Now it's going to look all yecchy when the tree is taken down. The nerve of the tree to fall there.

It doesn't look like a lot of damage was done to this part of the house. How about the location where the tree snapped. I could imagine that you had some serious structural damage there.

Sounds like you had some scared kids but it is good to know that nobody got hurt!

Great shot!

This was taken the next day and much of the snow had melted. It was the 12 inches of heavy snowovernight that brought the tree down. We had about $1500 damage to the house, but only one hole in the roof. Nope - nobody hurt <G>. The egding and siding was damaged some.

Tough roof!

Looks like limbs of tree cushioned the blow of the trunk of tree...somewhat.
