I just got my first LCD and want to make sure I have it set up with the best color and resolution. I used the adobe Gama program that was in my control panel to set color. I also adjusted the monitor to the max resolution. That was 1200 x 1080? The factory setting on the resolution was something like 1024 x 788. Is this the best set up for doing photo shop? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As I understand it, an LCD monitor should be set to the primary resolution the manufacturer specifies. Sounds like that is 1024 x 788 - unless that is the default for your video card.
