I'm interested in purchasing a Sigma lens for my Pentax DSLR from another person, but the mount for the lens is a Nikon mount. How hard is it to convert the lens to another format?

You would have to send the lens into Sigma for conversion, and that's assuming it can be done. even by Sigma. And then lets not forget the cost of such a conversion.

Personally, I would forget that particular lens and just go and buy a lens intended for your Pentax camera.

Its a big job (if it can be done) as it is not only the mount but he electronics as well that are different. Just get the lens designed for your body and it will be fine.
