Default A little help here!!!

I am new to digital photography. My fiance and I are buying a camera and are wondering, for quality and value, which camera is better. We want something to replace the 35mm. We are looking into the Canon S230 or the Casio Exilim Z3. We are basically wanting something to throw in a pocket or purse and just go. Or should we spend a little more money and get the PowerShot S400? Does anybody have any other recommendations for me? Thanks to all that reply!

Value is in the eye of the beholder.

You could spend less and get a Sony DSC-U20 or soon to be available U30.

If your personal value system favors pocketability, the U20 should be seriously considered. It is an excellent P&S 2Mpx camera with no bad habits (in all but very low light conditions), and let me assure you can be carry it with you always without the slightest inconvenience.
