Default Kodak CX4200 as a Gift

I might be going to Asia this summer, and have to get a digital camera for someone. (Its a gift). I have narrowed by choice down to the CX4200. Its seems to offer the most "bang for the buck".

I really dont care about the lack of zoom.

My main question is, how is the camera in general? And will it work fine in Asia if I purchase it from North America. It uses AA batteries, so I assume it will work fine.

There's a few issues, some digital cameras are only one video standard (if they have video out)...it may not work in the country you're bringing it to.

Second, warranty...the warranty of a camera bought in the US will be useless elsewhere unless you're willing to pay shipping to and from the US.

If the camera comes with a charger already, you may have to buy another one in the country you're going to if the voltage/frequency standards are different (if the charger isn't a universal voltage unit).

Cameras as gifts don't always work out...the camera may be too complicated for the person or too simple. Or the person may want to choose their own.
