Default Special Criteria, unsure where to find information :)

Heyo all

I work retail sales and today had a gentleman ask me a question which I had no idea how to answer.

Are there ~any~ manufacturers who design cameras where you are able to edit the filename of the image being stored right after you take the photo. Needs to be doable "in the field" so to speak, which is very accurate since it's going to be outdoors. He's taking pictures of electrical poles and would like to be able to rename the files to the poles serial # right after he takes the picture, instead of having about 300 poles to do at night when he gets back to the laptop. Is there any manufacturer who can do this?

Or, secondly, is there any software which would make the renaming process much easier then it is? The serial #'s are numeric only, ranging anywhere from 1-1,000,000. They are ~not~ contiguos, so just starting at X and ending at (X+300) for names won't do.

Hoping someone here can shed some light on these questions, and if you can, please email me at thood@westman.wave.ca.

Much obliged as always folks.
