Default Adobe plug in to auto-restore faded color prints?

I've just bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0, and haven't installed it yet. I have boxes of family color photos from the 60's that have faded to that horrible yellow-green. Is there a plug-in for Adobe that will "autorestore" the original colors, and provide me with a slider to dial-in the degree of color correction I need? I don't want to have to spend a great deal of time tweaking each individual photo after I've scanned & cropped them. Also, I'd planned on scanning these 3x5 inch snapshots at 300 dpi. Is this overkill? Thanks!
