Default Product Photography

Anyone deal with this and have any suggestions?

In my spare time I write reviews on various personal consummer electronics (from PC hardware to PC software to even local event coverage)

Anyway what I am interested in ways I can use my Canon a60 to get nice looking product shots.

What I do is get a couple of white sheets of paper, then place one as a base, place the product on that, and somehow prop the 2nd peice of paper behind the object to create somesort of backdrop.

Now it is inside my house so lighting is incendcent(sp). I try to get the room as brigh as possible, and then use the Colour Balance on the camera to take the ugly yellow tinge out.

Anyone have any other suggestions for doing this? I can not spend money on getting things, but looking for ideas for household items I might try to improve lighting shots etc
