I own a Tamron 17-50/2.8 that I'm very happy with. I've installed a Tiffen Wide Angle UV Protector filter. Because the filter doesn't have the threads that regular filters do, the standard Tamron lens cap won't stay attached.

Does anybody make a lens cap that I can use over the wide angle filter?

Has anybody else come up with a solution for this?

The filter's thread size is 67mm, and has a 70mm outside diameter.

It would look kinda strange, but something like the smallest of the bowl covers from the Vermont Country Store should do the job of protecting the filter.
A child's tube sock with tight elastic would also provide protection.
