I have a Canon Powershot A520 and my daughter knocked it out of my hands while it was on. The lens went in about half way and stopped. I can power it on, the power lightcomes onbut thats it, no other functions work. I can hear the motor "working"??

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Does anyone have any suggestions or is it pointless? I don't want to spend a lot of money to have it repaired since it is an older model (but it is a nice little camera) and I have actually been thinking of up-grading recently.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I would appreciate any advice, thank you.

Be careful. I'd leave it turned off (and remove the battery if the motor is still getting power). If a gear is jammed in the lens mechanism, you may burn up a component leaving it on with the motor trying to extend or retract it.

I can't help you on the fixing it part. But, something like a tiny gear may have come loose or moved, jamming the lens mechanism.
