Butterfly Photo?

I am looking at buying a camera from Butterflyphoto.com. I myself have never heard of them, but some people I've run into have. They have mostly good reviews on resellerratings.com, but also some bad ones.

Has anyone had any experiences with them in the past?

If the deal is good and/or they're relatively local, go for it.

But if their price isn't any better than a retailer with higher ratings, I'd go with the other retailer.

Ya, thats the problem. They sell the camera for $500, but currently its on sale for $415, and most "popular" retailers start at $500

Having never done business with the firm, just evaluating the photos, I would say the company has come a long way.... but resellerratings paint an inconsistent picture with enough negatives to question the business tactics of the firm.

If popular retailers are:

B&H
Adorama
Crutchfield
Dell
Sears
Staples
Office Depot
Best Buy
Wal-Mart

Then you can be fairly certain the price really is $500.

fwiw, i have purchased a couple of times from them with no issues. they may call and ask you to buy additional items but you can just say 'no'.
