Default New arival.

Took parents out to buy them a digital camera, was originally looking at getting them something like the Canon g3, but after looking at the stuff in the store ended up buying the new sony dsc-v1. Looks like a very good camera. It is very tiny (important for what they wanted) for what is has in it. even compared to my nikon 5400.

Spec overview.
The good:

5 mp.
Aperture and shutter controls from full auto to full manual.
Built in flash and hot shoe.
Focal Length: 7 - 28mm
35mm Equivalent: 34 - 136mm
Aperture: f2.8 - 4.0
Night vision, camera can focus in total dark!
USB 2.0

The bad:
Drawback to me is it uses sony memory sticks. so we can't use each others memory cards.

NO packin software at all, just a driver disk, I had to give them one of my copies of photoshop elements.

The Odd:
came with a free sony diskman portable cd player. :?

I know the feeling about exchanging memory cards. My son left smart media world to the xd picture card when he bought his new Fuji S5000. I also purchased a Nikon 5700. My best friend is using the smart media and dang my sister she is using sd. I use an USV mini drive to move photos around.
