Default Simple capture of VGA to camcorder

This should be simple, right? I must be stupid. I can find any number of gizmos to show DV on the computer but I want to do the revers - capture my monitor display TO my camcorder - in realtime - while I narrate. It's for a software training video. I have found software that captures to a disk file but it is a HUGE load on the system, requires down-tuning the display, etc. Any suggestions? TIA!

why wouldn't u just capture the video on your hard drive and then burn it to a cd or dvd. or mini disc. you can buy portable vcd players for cheap. you can store 2 hours of high quality video on a cd, via divx, wma

There's tons of VGA-Video (TV) encoders, either as an external device or even right on the video card like many of the ATI cards have.

One thing is you have to reduce the resolution (due to the limits of TV), watch your colours, make sure text is large and readable, and limit the amount of white (use light grey...bright white can make TVs buzz).

As you didn't fill in your location info when you joined, I can't tell you where you can buy them. If you're in the States/Canada, check places like Staples, FutureShop, CircuitCity, BestBuy, etc. Can't tell you anywhere else.
