Default External Viewfinders for SLR!

Are there external viewfinders that let you see the subject before it enters the frame?

Like a rangefinder (i think)

The only external viewfinders I've ever seen were for specialty lenses that required the mirror to be locked up when being used.

Have you tried shooting with both eyes open? Takes some getting used to but you are more aware of what is happening outside the frame.

I suppose there is nothing to stop you from using a rangefinder viewfinder.

They just mount on the flash shoe.

Made by Voigtlander-Cosina, Zeiss and Leica of course.

But in general it is my favourite "accidental" feature of rangefinder cameras, and I find it far superior to the SLR style of 95-100% coverage. I much prefer 200% coverage with bright lines.
