Default Extended Warranty Worth it?

I am going to get a digi cam and i'm thinking wheter should i order it online with express overnight or 2day shipping (with risk of not getting it on time for my vacation) or get it at store (and pay the high tax and paying the MSRP)
Does it worth getting Best Buy's Performance Plans or Ritz Camera Extended Warranty?

i plan either to get minolta dimage A1 or canon eos digiRebel (still can figure out which one :P both have too tempting pros & cons).

Please give me some advices and Thank you,

Xo Martel

Boy! This is a tough call. On one hand, the extended warranties offered are a HUGE money making opportunity for the retailer. I've heard horror stories of some companies being very difficult to deal with and I've heard positive results from others (I couldn't tell you which ones). Personally, I never buy extended warranties beyond the manufacture warranty on any product I purchase. I make the assumption (right or wrong) that any manufacter defects will be found within that period, particularly on electronics. However, if you ever need the warranty, I suppose it would pay for the expense....maybe. So, I guess it's up to you and your personal take on the value added of the warranty offered.
