Default List of DC that have Optical Zoom during Video Capture

I am sure this is a duplicated thread.

There was one back in around 2006 but I think it has sunk to the bottom of the forum, or at least has not been updated for quite a while. So I bothered not to pump it up.

I dare to start a new one because I think Video Optical Zoom is a nice feature and the info (the list) is useful to most consumers.

No idea why many vendors tend to disable such function nowadays.
(To sell such low-tech as "advanced models" at higher prices???)

My impression is there were more zoomable DC back in pre-2005 period than nowadays.

Let me start the list from my own gears

Please supplement it with your experience:

Z for those Zoomable

NZ for those cannot zoom

Z0. All video-capable DSLR and M 4/3 (obviously)

Z1. All Kodak V-series (now discontinued)

Z2. All Kodak Z-series (still some latest in production)

Z2. Nikon P7000

NZ1. Canon G12 (that's the reason I chose P7000 over it)

... etc

IIRC, there have been a lot of complaints about the audio noise of the lens motors while recording. If you use the internal mic, there isn't much to be done about it, except to disable the function. Probably should be user selectable, though.

Zooming noise is totally acceptable to me.

My Kodak Z1275 zoom noise can hardly be heard, unless the subject sound you are recording is too weak.

You are right: they should at least provide it as as option

Rather than disabling it.

The Fuji HS10/HS20 have manual zoom rings, so there are no issues with motor noise while zooming in video mode. I believe the same is true for the Sony HX100V, but apparently that camera has a 'hybrid' lens ring that can be used for zooming or focusing. How that works I'm not sure.
Fujifilm FinePix HS10, Fujifilm FinePix HS20 EXR, Pentax E-80 P&S, Sunpak auto383 flash, Optex slave flash, Velbon VGB3 heavy-metal tripod, TechPro TP-242 tripod with B62 ballhead, assorted filters and other bits.
