Default How to clean dust from Manual Nikon N8008s and contacts on flash

Not sure where this post should be so I thought this would be the right place. My nikon n8008s has been without a cap cover or lense over the opening for several months and I'm quite sure this needs to be cleaned out, also the contacts where the flash goes has some corrosion also the SB-24 has some corrosion on the contacts that connect to the camera and where the batteries go. Normally the corrosion is not a big deal but it's been a few years since I've used this camera and when I pulled the camera and flash out of the bag I noticed these issues. I figured that maybe using some fine steel wool might help with the corrosion but have no idea on how to clean the inside of the camera. I really enjoyed using this camera and have been on a break from photography (35mm) for the past 3-4 years. I'd appreciate any advise from those of you who have done repairs on there cameras. I don't want to get rid of my camera outfit and hopefully will get back into shooting 35mm and digital. Thanks
