Default Buying a new camera

Buying a new digital camera :?:

Hello everyone. I am a new user to this forum. I am from Kerala, India.

I am new into photography. I was very much interested since last year. And I hate film roll cameras. So I bought a digital camera. Since I was not sure of which camera, I bought a Cheez Splash digital camera. I enjoyed it for some time. It could take 155 photos. The quality is pathetic. Now i am looking for the below,

1) 3 - 4 megapixel
2) 10 x zoom Optical (or less)
3) Digital zoom i dont care
4) good battery life
5) with its own internal attached battery (like in cannon)
6) not interpolated
7) Price between Rs 10000 - Rs 20000 (US$ 200 - US$ 400)

The cheez camera I bought for US $ 75. It is not at all worth the money. The only good thing was, I am good in Adobe Photoshop, so i was able to make modifications to the photos to make it look nice. I do not want the trouble anymore...

Please help me...

Thanks in advance...

You mentioned in your post that you wanted something like the Canon's.

Take a look at the Canon PowerShot G3 or G5. They are great point & shoot and manual camera's. They don't have 10X optical zoom though.

I have a G3 and am very happy with it. The battery life is great. They also give you the option to take photos in RAW format. This would be great for you since you mentioned you are good with PhotoShop.

u need the Panasonic FZ10.
However the FZ10 is $500 to $550 in the open market, so go for a Panasonic FZ1 or FZ2.

You will be pleased.

I really don't know if there's a camera out there that meets all those specifications. The Olympus C740, Minolta Dimage Z1 and, the Fuji 3800 all have the MP's you want and the 10X zoom and, they're in your price range. The only thing I can tell that they don't have that you said you would like are a proprietary battery. All the cameras I mentioned use AA batteries.
