Default FILTERS - help !

1. Is it worth giving extra money for a multi-coated UV flter if I
need it for a digital camera ?

2. Is B+W really worth twice as much as Tiffen , as the price
suggests ?

3. Some people say , for camcorders even cheaper filters will
do since it 's not capable of making a picture fine enaugh
to show the difference ( I mean motion picture , not a snap
shot )

Thank you for your time and help guys !!

1. B+W (same with Heliopan) filters are ground and polished like a lens element, whereas inexpensive ones are stamped out from flat sheet of glass, ie mostly quality of the manufacturing and the cost of achieving it... also notice at how the filters are attached to its rings as well as the the material used (brass vs...).

2. When people spend a lot of money on choosing a lens that's designed to minimize glare and reflection... they don't want to defeat the very same purpose by putting on non-muticoated element.

3. Video camera has a lot of movements (as well as lower resolution) compared to a still picture where a person can actually take time and analyze the minute details and critisize the outcome... the accompanying sound further adds to the detraction (or entertainment)! :P
