Default Canon 5D2 production ended

I see in Steve's news that the Canon 5D2 has been discontinued.

I never had one. But there were occasions I aspired to owning one.

I've always considered it to be an excellent camera....full frame, great movie features and in general a well built, well planned camera that brought full frame to many.

A friend had one and his photo's were excellent. Cropping and still having a workable pic was there in spades.

During it's prime...before the Nikon D800 and the Canon 5D3 came out I felt that it was the best choice for reasonably priced, full frame for portraits, static photo's, etc.

Couple the 5D2 with Canon L glass and it was hard to beat.

Lately the prices have been great for a still wonderful, albeit older...first introduced in 2008, now phased out camera.

In my opinion the 5D2 has been a significant camera in digital.
