Default Photo organization for remote studio


I have a question regarding photo organization... I work with a small, design studio. We travel frequently and are rarely in the same location. I am looking for a way to set up a shared photo organization platform to compile photos, and tag and organize photos. The option to edit photos would be great but is not totally necessary. Adobe Lightroom seems like a great way to edit, tag and organize, but it lacks the ability to share ones library across numerous computers/users. Adobe Revel seems to work great for sharing across numerous computers, but lacks the ability to tag. We use drobox for all other file sharing, but for photos it lacks the ability tag and isn't very viewing friendly.

Anyways, I'm sure I'm not the first one to search for this type of multi-user, tag-able, searchable, photo organizer. If any one in this forum has an idea of what might work, I would be grateful for any insight.

How about all your people continue to use Lightroom, but store all your photos on a server on your LAN that's accessible remotely via VPN?
