Default 1DMark2

someone in dpreview posted, they was waiting for the field reviews before he bought the new canon 1DMark2 because of split censors that caused problems for the old 1D. Im not sure what this means. or even if the new 1DMark2 even has what he is calling split censors. thanks for all replys.

I don't know what he means by split sensors, the 1D only has one CCD sensor, and one autofocus sensor. In contrast the 1D mk.2 has a large CMOS sensor inplace of the CCD, and it has TWO autofocus sensors to speed up autofocusing. Perhaps that's what the guy was talking about? Maybe he wanted to acertain the accuracy and speed of this new dual sensor setup?
