Default Problems with print quality- CanonS820

I have a canon S820 photo printer and an Olympus D-510 digital camera. I am not able to get photoshop quality photos from my printer/camera combination. Often you can see pixels in the photo or the color is off. When I sent my pictures to a photoshop they came out fine. And when I print out photos/pictures off the website or photos which people have sent to me, the print quality is good.

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

What program did you print with? I have used ACDSee and QImage on my S820 using Epson Glossy Photo (not Premium), Epson Heavyweight Matte, and coated inkjet paper (don't know the brand) with FANTASTIC results.

I've tried a little bit of tweaking the print driver but I've found that just selecting the correct paper type and leave everything else as is gives great results.
