I'm trying to take pictures of all of the buildings in Manhattan (NYC). I need a method of relating the pictures to the buildings. I'm looking for a way to tie this information directly to the picture images within the camera. I've tried writing things down manually, but it takes hours to sort out once I get back from shooting several hundred photos.

A friend told me about an old Kodak camera that allowed you to record a few seconds of description of the picture in a .wav file. Evidently the .wav file got the same filename as the .jpg or something like that.

I also considered using the Kodak DSC 210, which can be programmed with Digita. The idea was to put the address of the building into the photo's name. But I need better resolution.

I also tried using a GPS tied to a tracklog, which I then associated with the timestamps in the images. But in Manhattan GPS reception is very poor especially around tall buildings. Also the buildings are often just 15 feet wide, so even a small error can put you off by a couple of buildings.

Does anyone know of any technique by which I can take thousands of pictures and associate labels with the pictures as I take them?
