I'm looking into purchasing a Digital Camera that I can use for amateur photography - one that has lots of manual controls and lets me be more creative than the average point and shoot.

My requirements are pretty meager but so is my wallet: $375 is the most I can spend before accesories

I want 3mp plus although I'm not sure what I should aim for. I will be doing both print and computer photos although probably more computer.

I'm used to an olympus OM1 film camera to give you an idea of what I was using. I realize that at the moment anything equivelent will be $1000 or so at the very least, before additional lens.

I plan on upgrading to a digital SLR when the prices are more manageable. I'm hoping something like the Canon rebel 6mp will be around $500 in 2 years.

Any suggestions on what to look into? So far I'm looking at the following:
Canon A80, Canon A75 (any ideas on which would be better between these two for me), Kodak 6490. Also any suggestions on additional models?
