If I meter a scene with a digi cam and get the following exposure values -

F2.8 - 1/250s

If I then meter the same scene with film, will I get the same exposure values.

Assuming both cams are set to the same ISO value and exposure mode.

Canon EOS 50e

Yes you should in theory. F stop, shutter speed and aperture should relate the same way at the same ISO.

I've seen differences between digital cameras and even between film cameras. Area metering mode can give slightly different results because cameras have different algorithms for how much priority to give to different parts of the image. If you go to spot metering and take your exposure on the same item in the same light you should get about the same answer in both film and digital. The variation between digital and film is probably about the same as between different film or different digital cameras taken separately.
