Default Taking small thumbnail pics to put on website.

Hey people. I really need some help here. I'm looking for Digital Cameras that can take clear Thumbnail pictures. Do i need a 5 megapixel camera or somethin else? Whenever i try to make my regular size pictures into small thumbnail size, they don't come out clear. I want to put them on my website, small clear thumbnail pics. Any help??

I wouldnt bother investing in a camera just for Thumbnails, you shoudl be able to get perfectly goof thumbnail results from your large images with a bit of tweaking.

I find image resizing generally benefits from a bit of unsharp masking afterwards, or you could try PhotoShops (if you have v5.5+) nifty 'Resize Image' wizars, strangely tucked away under the Help menu!

Hope this helps

yes, when you size down to thumbnail size you have to sharpen it to look good. Thats what I do with mine

Just go download a copy of ThumbsPlus and give it a try. It's what I use to generate the thumbnail tables for all of our sample photo pages in the reviews.

ThumbsPlus automatically creates optimal thumbnail images as well as the HTML code to easily integrate it into an existing web page or create the entire page for you.

And yes, it does sharpen the images after they have been sized down, without this sharpening those images would appear blurry.

Another excellent software package for publishing your pics to the web with automatically generated thumbnail pages is CompuPic. Here's an example of a page I made: Camp Good Grief pics. There's a link at the bottom of the page for more info on CompuPic.
