These picture taken by getty images are so good. made me wondering, is it the camera and/or the processing afterwards?

the image is so clear, crisp and vivid.

Well, it probably was PP'd some, but one of the things that makes the subject stand out, is the shallow depth of field from a long focal length lens, combined with a large aperture (smaller F/Stop Number), and the photographers skill at Bokeh.

I don't really like Ken Rockwell's philosphy about many things, but he does have a good explanation of Bokeh on his web site:
