Default Kodak, Fuji, HP collaborate on digital photofinishing

Interesting press release from the International Imaging Industry Association, announcing Common Picture eXchange Environment (CPXe).

The idea is "consumers using digital cameras will be able to obtain photographic prints and other innovative digital photo services from participating providers using:
- Any digital camera
- From any location
- Via any online photo site
- From any retail printing service or printer

"Consumers today are used to a behavior pattern with photofinishing that is hard to break because the current process with film is convenient and simple. In order for mass-market adoption of digital photography to occur, the industry needs a digital photofinishing infrastructure similar to what exists today for film. "
