Default Architect

My architect friend asks me advice in buying a digital camera for work.
Seems funds are limited, he's talking about a point and shoot 3 Megapixels.
One of the first priority in my mind would be the ability to have as wide an focal length angle as possible.
Interchangeable lenses are not an option.
What camera could i then recommend ?

Bonjour Patate

Well, can’t help you very much. What I can say is the D7 family (5 Mpix D7,D7i,D7Hi) has 28mm wide angle limit on the 28-200 zoom, and you have the “grid” and “scale” display options on the LCD/EVF which is very useful for architectural shots.
Also, you and your friend must be aware for the barrel distortion phenomena, which could be problematic for certain. ( I guess that high end architectural specialized cam/lens has much less distortion)

If you like, I has some building shots here ( with Minolta D7i)

PS: in the exif data: focal lengh of 7mm correspond to 28mm equivalent in 35mm film camera
