even though i set the flash to d-ttl...i constantly have to incr/decr the exposure compensation either on the flash or the camera...or maybe this is normal...last time i went to a wedding...the pro just point and shoot at his subjects...i never saw him playing around with the flash or his camera...or maybe he was so quick to do it...

help please...

Default Are you shooting with Matrix Metering?

If so you are dueling the Matrix program for exposure. Use a different metering mode or set the flash for TTL (not D-TTL) and it should be better.

Compensation is not recommended in Matrix modes.
