Default Olmpus C-50 v Canon S-40 v Nikon 4300?

I am going to purchase my first digital camera for Christmas. I have narrowed it down to these three cameras. Please let me know which one you think is the best. I like the size of the C-50. I've read good reviews on the S-40. CNET loves Canon. The Nikon is nice because you can add a wide-angle lens. I'd appreciate any feed back. Thank you.

The Olympus C50 is a great subcompact camera. It will provide you with manual modes that will let you grow with the camera. The Olympus optics are excellent and are know to lead the digital camera market. I touch my first and was amazed at the size. You will not be able to add different lens or filters to this camera.

If you are considering a camera with ability to add lens and filter in the future you should consider the Oly C5050. Both of these cameras have made Steve's cameras of the year list. Check Breaking News link. The C50 made the list twice.
